Gauntlets, Gloves, Gorgets

When you’re dealing with imaginary species, costuming terms are somewhat arbitrarily assigned.  So to me, gauntlets aren’t cuffed gloves, they’re the separate cuff that covers the wrist and lower arm.  Some folks call ’em van braces. A gorget refers to a separate floating collar.  I think it was an armor piece that protected the neck in medieval armor parlance. I have also extended it to refer to the separate piece that goes under an open front vest, with or without the roman collar used to put neck insignia on display. Gloves are gloves.
